Every year consumers are bombarded with new models of kitchen appliances. It’s not any more about just kettles and toasters as new models of toaster ovens, rice makers, waffle machines, mixers, blenders, bread machines, slicers and others come out with regularity every month. There are so many of them that consumers can easily get confused as to which ones they really need and which ones serve nothing more but to fill up a kitchen space and empty your wallet. So if you are buying and equipping your home for the first time, or just doing some kitchen inventory, you might want to consider following notes:

Toasters are sincerely the basic part of your kitchen, just like knives or frying pans. Starting prices of a few pounds their affordability does not present an issue. Of course you can always spend more with premium brands adding restaurant size and durability toasting. But the toasted bread most likely will always taste the same.

Kettles may be one the oldest invented kitchen accessory. Even costing less than toasters, they can fulfill multiple functions. So, if you are careful in picking a nice design, they can serve well to decorate your kitchen as well as give out welcoming whistling reminder of a coming tea time.

Rice machines are very handy to have if you cook real rice few times a month. You just put in the rice, poor the water to certain level, and machine does the rest. But it will not cook instant rice any faster, so if you do not mind eating that type of rice, why bother buying this machine?

Bread machine: People considering diets should not even look at these appliances. The smell of fresh baking bread spreading throughout a house can hypnotize even the hardest dieters to completely forget about their eating plans. Thus, it makes a perfect Christmas gift for someone who has a weight problem and who is not on your most favorite list.

Mixers: If you like making cakes, this is certainly a must have item. Don’t even think about it – just get it – whipping stuff by hand stopped being attractive almost a century ago.

Electrical grills and ovens maybe look really nice on infomercials but food that they help prepared swiftly rarely taste as well as food that is cooked the old fashion way. However, maybe they can provide short term motivation to start cooking healthier, but when that motivation disappears, what do you do then? Buy another appliance, and keep them piling up?

Food processors may help people on a few occasions. But sincerely, those people that do not like to get their hands dirty, usually do not cook at all, so why bother?

Whichever of those products you decide to buy, always think about trying them out first. Most of them have money back guarantees so you should never be stuck with those that give you less than perfect satisfaction.
